Lauren Pattison’s bold, coming-of-age tale was a huge critical hit from the very beginning of the festival. The 23-year-old told the story of being dumped by her boyfriend of four years, which left her devastated. But this was far more than a simple break-up show; the Geordie comic used that heartbreaking event to reevaluate her self-worth, anxiety and being comfortable in her own skin. It was an empowering piece of storytelling.
